    Dear ERS:

Thanks for the comment– I’ve added a link to your book via Amazon.com. I’ll have your comment & book link on the blog later today or tomorrow.

I think of all the comments, those from the Lambeth Blog are most on-target:

Rowan is probably going to retire this year, and felt (in the light, perhaps of the Pope’s comments in Regensburg of faith, reason, and the relation between Islam & the modern world) that the suggestion of peace via partial sharia would be part of his ‘Legacy’.

It will, but not as he intended. God, in his mercy, may use such intellectual idiocy and cluelessness to raise up the people of Britain and her component nations to stand up for what is right & good. As I understand matters, the ruling elite & public opinion in the UK are over-separated. Perhaps the Whitehall mandarins may hear the rabble roused even in their well-cushioned offices, and realize that business-as-usual just won’t do.

After all, the foundation of Christian hope is not optimism, utopianism, or ablind faith in the innate goodness of the human race– rather, it is grounded in God in Christ, and the overarching power and providence of God to bring good from evil.

Off the top of my head,

    Saith Binks
