~ SO ANYWAY, this blog is very dusty, some links dead, old, missing, and not reflective of 2013 and all the new great stuff out there. Expect some novelties, which I will point out, and some new graphics and fiddling and suchlike.

I apologize for the frozen-ghost site of FreeMarkSteyn.com– I will have to take advice as what to do with it– donations were made to make it and host it, and I’ve not figured out the technical problems of posting videos there, so I’m not sure what to do.

I will in fact return to the “Essays & Copious Linkeries” format of old.. this was just a first startup posting, to get me actually recalling the password, navigating the new WordPress, and putting someting online more than good intentions.. who always scores on his own team.

Please to spread the word, O ye bloggers, that I’m actually trying to get underway again, and any and all encouragement is gladly accepted.

To add to the digital privacy/password-changey goodness, grab yourself a copy of KeePass. It’s a simple but powerful password database application, which includes a random password generator you can control the parameters of.

Whenever you need to register for something, just call up a new entry in KeePass, record your username, and generate a random password. The only password you ever need to remember from then on is the one that unlocks your KeePass database. And if you throw said database (which is heavily encrypted) into a Dropbox, you can access it via different apps on your Android or iOS-based mobile device, just in case.

Oh, and KeePass also lets you assign expiry dates to passwords stored in it, in case you need periodic reminders to change your online security.

Best of all: FREE!

It might be included in the PortableApps suite; I forget. If not: keepass.info.

 

Snowmageddon ’11 Continues

.. the real one, not the foot or so in central North America. We’ve had snow-days galores, and 4 feets of the big fluffy in the past two weeks or so, with another 8″-18″ incoming today.

Blogging/ aggregating continues, nonetheless, and posting from the BinkiBunker will happen in the next 24-48.
