The blogosphere just isn’t fair— it tends to reward talent, hard work, and being interesting once in a while. It also requires content– which is no doubt why the Osgoode-3 haven’t taken up Mike Brock’s offer of the keys to a ready-made free blog to flog their vaporous views.
How To Proceed
So if you’re trying to do old-style media fighting (which does not require talent, work, or having much to say), you do it the way the ElMo Sock-Puppets and their allies do it: have an entirely one-sided forum, like at Ryerson; stack the phone-lines, like on Cross Country Checkup; or have one token person representing the evil wrong-headed position in a panel of three, like at the upcoming panel-discussion today in Calgary.
It’s dirty fighting, it’s transparently lame, but we may suppose that when you are– as they pose it– fighting racists, Islamophobes, hatemongers, and/ or various massive right-wing or other conspiracies and cadres of the obviously and terribly wrong, you must go all out.
Perhaps them of you in Calgary might drop by to lend moral support to the latest debacle. Here at FreeMarkSteyn, we’ll just keep endlessly thrashing them with what talent, hard work, and wit that God has seen fit to give the WebElves.
On It Goes
But don’t be surprised: the counter-offensive is on– and offensively one-sided media-stunts shall continue– after all, it’s pretty much all they’ve got, except good intentions, and the sympathy of the chattering classes, most politicians, most of the media, a majority of leftward academia, the HRC tribunals, much of the judiciary. Surely you can understand their desperation when uncomfortable views come out into the open where people actually give them a fair hearing.
It’s like most of the Middle East: if you actually allow the building of churches, the holding of Bible-studies, freedom to discuss religion and be converted– well, heaven knows where you will end up!
Binks

The panel discussion is actually in Edmonton, not Calgary. Lund’s from Calgary.
Binks,
I believe the offer to the “Osgoode-5,4,3” was made by Jay Currie.
