~ ARE THE LATEST terror-arrests in Canada a wake-up call? Depends on if you believe in the religion of “Everybody Is Equal” or not. Cuddly Relativism is the intellectual blindness affecting many in the media & academia & chattering classes– and after the facts and upset, the self-censoring and thought correction will kick in.
We’re in real danger of becoming like post-1933 German citizens watching their Jewish and Socialist and dissident neighbours disappear, and we adjust our reality just that little bit each time. So freedom is stolen incrementally, and the creeping cowardice paralyses freedom, thinking, and action.

Canadian people indeed need to wake up. We are at war– the enemy is here. They are persistent, dangerous, and intend domination. The critical limit is being passed– once militant Muslims feel they are free to attack Canadian targets, things get worse, and not better.
Further, even the soft-Jihadis are energized by terror-threats (successful or not) to be more politically and culturally aggressive, and the general populace (and particular uppity politicians and counter-jihadists) are ever more afraid of Muslim assertiveness and the threat of violence or societal disturbance.
Do we choose to live, fight back, stand tall? Or do we surrender via a thousand little white-flag moments?
What to do?
(1) Learn up ASAP on the terms & mentality of the Jihad we all face. We’re very lucky to have a number of talented word-warriors around for such a time as this. Books like Brother Tariq, or Robert Spencer’s Stealth Jihad, or his Religion of Peace?: Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn’t, and any of the books I feature on this blog or over at Canucki Jihad. This is first a war of facts & uncovering truth.
(2) No more naiveté. Stealth Jihad is here. Bringing Canada under submission to Islam is the goal. Watch and learn what militant Muslims are up to in Canada, whether by bombs or lawsuits. This is a war of awareness.
(3) Fight for immigration reform & restrictions, and deportation for immigrants & the children of immigrants who engage in or support Jihad, subversion, terrorists or terror-groups like Hamas, Hizbullah, the Taliban and all the rest.
(4) All radical mosques and imported radical imams need to be under surveillance, as well as conferences and gatherings, with full audits and financial consequences for criminal activity. Again, deportation and the full pressure of the existing laws need to be brought to criminals.
(5) We need to work with truly moderate Muslims to weaken the silence and oppression which radicals use to pressure their own communities.
(6) While the legal principle of innocent until proven guilty is essential in law, when it comes to prudently dealing with militant Islam and the alphabet-soup of cover-groups like CAIR, ISNA, the MSA, they have a proven track record of supporting terror, encouraging radicalism, and demonstatre that the soft & hard sides of Islamic supremacism are two sides of the same coin. Jihadi until proven otherwise.. but still under suspicion.
(7) The cowardly idiots at the Laval PD, by refusing to investigate Muslim machete-threats against two university students merely send the message that Canadian law-enforcement and public opinion can be cowed. The brutal inhuman ideology of jihad sees that as weakness and opportunity.
(8) Ignore the self-pity, victimhood, and loud noises of the militants and their aiders and abettors. It’s distraction-seeking behaviour. “Help, help, we’re being oppressed” is a cover for being held accountable.
(9) Pray.
We’ve been very lucky and well-protected so far. Sooner or later, our luck will run out. ~
~ YOU CAN HEAR THE DEAFENING RUMBLE– of outraged same-sexists rallying to defend same-sex marriage, which they promised– promised!– would never never never ever open the door to the merest possibility of people using their innovation to propose even more innovations– such as polymorphical polygamy, for instance. Remember the outrage of then-MP Svend Robinson when people warned that polygamy was a possible consequence of mutating the age-old institution of man-woman marriage– just this once, pinky-swear!– for the same-sexers?
The United Church and Anglicans will cheerfully– after due debate & vote and sharing-sessions and institutional repression and suing of dissidents– conduct weddings of any random number of men and women.
Mumbles All ‘Round
What’s that? Deadly silence? Shrugs? Looking the other way and pretending such matters have nothing to do with them? The old Spanish proverb has it “‘Take what you want’, said God, ‘but you’ll have to pay for it.'”
That is, the unravelling of society and the collapse of the Christian ethic of marriage will sow dragon’s teeth in society. All of us have had a part in it– first the divorcers, then the un-marriers and serial monogamists. The same-sexers were once the bleeding edge of collapse, but next it’s the polygamists and child-sexers and eco-friendly dolphin-lovers, and the incesters.
Seriously– why not? Why shall not all be allowed to legally find their joy as they see fit? No? Why not, then? Shall mere commandment, tradition, custom, taboo, current legalities, the status quo– or anything else– deflect or deny our absolute will to jollies as we define them? Says who? So what if they do? Obviously phobic enemies of change.
Total Utter Fraud
And what tiny percentage of the 1-2% of the population that self-identify as “homosexual” have rushed off to the altars they so sought to possess via marriage? Under 1%. That’s right. Canada= 33 millions. That’s about 660 000 people at the very most who self-identify as “gay”. Of those, under 10 000 have gotten “married”.. perhaps as few as 6600 people, or +/- 3300 couples. Getting the picture? It wasn’t even a sales-job– it was a full-scale scam pulled on the rest of us.
Then they enforce the latest rules on the rest of us. Totaliqueerianism?

~ I WAS WATCHING (online) the BBC ‘Wonders Of The Solar System‘ series, and learning more about the Sun. It’s big. And remarkably hot. And puts out a lot of energy.
Interestingly, the Sun has seasons and hot & cold times; and the earth responds to this in endless ways. One scientist showed that the active & quiet phases of solar weather corresponded directly with changes in the Amazon river depth & activity.
We So Smarter
Those prone to mocking past ages for not being as amazingly smart as we are will make endless sport of the ‘fact’ that ‘everybody in the pre-modern world thought the earth was the centre of the solar system’ because they anthropocentrically thought human beings were all that. Well, lots of people didn’t; some did, and whatever. Their astronomy began because they loed God and his creation: God was the great fact and source of all. They didn’t miss that fact.
Thumbing your noses at the past is a very snobbish & teenagerish activity.
Fast forward to our supremely brilliant times, and the bizarre and politicized debate over man-made global warming. That is, humans are so powerful and dangerous that we’re the direct cause of all the changes in the atmosphere. God? Whatever. It’s all about us.

Really? The Sun is the biggest effing thing in our celestial neighbourhood– even bigger than Al Gore & David Suzuki’s egotism combined– and it is the biggest fact of our life, existence, and earthly weather… down to the bottom of the ocean, even.
The Big Idea
Solar weather = global weather. Repeat. Ponder.
More solar heat = more carbon dioxide released into the environment from the sea & land. Less heat? = Less CO2. Much of human history can be deciphered via solar history, and the resulting changes in climate, oceans, rainfall, monsoons, and all the rest.
Ask the tribes of the lush Sahara.. or the ancient Harappans. No? They moved on, as the sun changed & climate changed.
It’s more anthropocentrism redux to go green-cult apocalyptic and put human actions at the centre of the solar system again. Yes we need to continue to fight pollution, and make all efforts to get chemicals and toxins out of the natural environment, but anthropogenic global warming is a theory with a lot of unanswered questions, not a scientific certainty on which to found social, scientific and environmental policy upon.
~ LAST TIME AROUND I wrote of how Canadian philosopher George Grant warned us of techne as our abiding idea– of man as unlimited maker via technology. Maker-man always thinks in terms of ‘can I do this’, not ‘should I do this’– and without grasping the consequences.
Modern social radicals have the same technical approach to remaking society and other people. Feminists? Same-sexists? Multicultists? Just fix the ‘problem’ you don’t like by hook or crook– engineer your solution by law, popular opinion, by shutting down the opposition.
This is, of course, a profoundly inhuman and dehumanizing approach. It treats humans, civilization, institutions and good and evil as a ‘problem to be solved’, with some people having power to control and remake others and their behaviour. Labtech & rats.
So the advocates of social revolution imagine they can ‘make a new world’ by will & technique: clear-cutting and paving and mutating all obstacles and opposition. California’s controversial Proposition 8 is thus merely (and only) a matter of how to get what you want, not right or wrong, or whether it should be done, or consequences intended or otherwise.
Making Stuff Up
The idea that this is just ‘gay culture’ extending back to the Greeks is utter nonsense & historical ignorance. Some of the Greeks may have had societally tolerated male & male sexual relationships– but this was not marriage, nor officially approved in society.
The ancient Greeks considered impiety and hubris great sins. That is, disrespecting the gods by casting aside treasured human tradition and customs; and overweening pride, arrogance and insolence, resulting violence against others, and the downfall of the hubristic.
Arrogant modern radicals are destroyers, bullies, and great sowers of dragon’s-teeth & destruction in society. If they succeed, we end up with a universal tyrant-state– if not, more societal collapse and divisions.. with rising persecution of socons and the classically religious.
We have created our own barbarians, and some of them are ‘fabulous’. ~
~ C.S. LEWIS once spoke of how reading the wonderful faerie-novels of George MacDonald ‘baptized’ his imagination. It was an enlightening, a preparation for the Gospel, an unsuspected inward awakening which opened his mind & heart to higher things, through seemingly ordinary literary means.
Tolkien’s Middle Earth novels were them same for my bookish young soul. Old JRRT was a thus a soul-friend I never met in the flesh– I hope to thank him and Christ himself for him one day on that bright and farther shore.
His heroic characters are each one aspects of humanity, faith, courage, and suffering. They are friends I have walked with in imagination, and each time, the stories are fresher and better than before.
How so? Faith and imagination are not contraries, but the very fire and furnace of a living heart and mind. The impoverishing of bookless souls raised on square glowing screens is a real loss and tragedy for the individual and for humanity.
So I’m re-reading Dante (in the timeless Sayers translation, which captures the joy in verse of the original), and finding in my Florentine friend a real gift in his firm self-examination of soul, his humour, his humility learned through suffering. Plus, that 700-year dead author taught me how to love and understand poetry.
It’s never to late to pick up & read the great classics of Western Litt– which after all, truly live in the hearts and minds of ordinary folk, and not bottled up like mummified objects of academic interest & squabbling only. ~
~ BECAUSE WHY, EXACTLY? It’s beyond ironical that the radical Leftards under Allan rock at the UofO in Canada and the hard right WND media outlet agree that Ann Coulter is just too much. Looks like both of her opponents misunderstand the whole messy ‘freedom of speech’ thing– but shame on WND for slighting one of their own, one of the good-gals.
A real risk of the ideological wars is to become like your enemy– to become bitterly politically correct in a reverse direction, and to impose us/them categories. That way lies crazy, faction, and an ever-smaller ‘us’.
True conservativism is a better account of reality partly because it encompasses a wider and more encompassing view of the universe, opinion, and the freedom of speech, opinion, and the like.
