~ REMEMBER: I’m a trifling nothing. A mere amateur. A rank layman, news-wise (no doubt, according to the genii who study at Ryerson Journalism with The Non-Ph.D. “doctor” John Miller .. he certainly had no use for me when we were at a conference together in Halifax).
Somehow, despite no Miller-approved cred, or the blinding wisdom from above dispensed in programs like his and others across Canada, yet somehow I still managed to create & run the Anglican version of the Drudge Report from 1998-2007, on a tiny budget (unlike the competition, Canadian Anglican News Service, Episcopal News Service, and London Anglican News Service = $5-6 million a year, and 20+ staff).
That’s one little elf with no training, and with one guy helping me for a couple of years with the nerdy-stuff, taking on the bigs, and whipping them, news-wise. Even the Anglican wreckers & progressives and leadership used to check me daily, to see what was being said about them, and to get timely news from all points of view, not ‘managed & massaged messages’ from the Anglican equivalents of the old Soviet-era Pravda or Isvestia propaganda services.
What Just Happened
The bad guys are dancing, and lining up behind velvet ropes to take their turns pissing on the grave of Sun News TV.
Binks Translate-O-Tron: The corrupt, incestuous, blinkered, vain, intolerant media elite and their Trudeaupia-era CRTC corruptocrat conflict-of-interest bullies at the CRTC have spoken: more like Brian Williams and Anna Maria Tremonti, less like Brian Lilley and Ezra Levant. Because being hard-left IS moderate: there are no questions to which we will not be told what to think by the sockpuppets of CBC & CTV, echoing CNN, MSNBC, and other infotainment sewer pipes. And the Canadian leftards in the slavish one-side only commentariat said ‘Amen!’
Some now argue that SUN-TV was a small-time operation because of the relatively lowish number of viewers. This is erroneous 1980s thinking, because of the power and news-force of social media. ONE news report with proper reporting, actual balance, and facts not to be found in the dino-media can quickly spread around the world on blogs, FaceBook, Twitter, and e-mail. Decision-makers as well as old-type newsies and ordinary folks benefit, act, discuss.
Moreover, SUN-TV itself kept a lively 21st-century-style link with bloggerdom, the Web, and rising stories of actual interest, without the delay, filtering, and– well– stinking lies and misrepresentation of the facts and meaning of the news as we see on CBC, CTV, and related outfits. That’s partly why the CBC-CRTC-CTV coalition had to kill the competition by hook or by crook. Truth spread quickly buggers up the establishment, and causes restless sheeps.
Sadly, we have 1980s media-monopoly idiots making decisions about their competition, and ideological enemies. Also, you need money to run a flagship TV outfit, and low numbers (partly thanks to the CRTC itself, and dirty backroom games by the media powers that be).
Binks, Him Sadly
Canada just lost several tons of public-media grey matter. Can’t be having relevant news going up fast with useful commentary and truth-seeking spoiling the media picnic. News leads to braining which leads to thinking about stuff, and holding people accountable. Can’t have that, so it’s back to the 70s in 21st century Canada.
Oh, and if you ‘conservative’ cable-people didn’t bother to subscribe, you own some of this, too.
