“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” [ Proverbs 15:1-3 ]

~ CURRENT EVENTS are testing a lot of us, and many are falling into temptation and sin because we are not close enough to God. THe war is especially visible online.
Harsh words, harsher attitudes, insults, disrespect, hate, contempt, social media flame wars, defriendings.. and please don’t tell me it’s all of the Lord, and that Satan isn’t rejoicing to see brothers and sisters in Christ at each other’s throats like rabid dogs. Gack.
To be tested or tempted is not in itself sinful.. only to give in, to wallow in it, to take the easiest way, and thus to have ourselves revealed in that moment to be unstable mud, and not polished steel. It’s humbling, and calls for repenting and beseeching grace, not more of the same.
We must forgive those who trespass against us, if we would be forgiven; we must ask God not to allow us to fall into the time of testing, because we too easily fail. These two petitions of the Lord’s Prayer are all the more important in perilous and troublesome times.
So warneth the Binks to himself, and to others.
Some catechetical goodness on the matter to ponder and pray about, from equally difficult and divided times, the mid-to-late 1500s:
~ ONE OF THE great joys whilst wandering the fever-swamps of YouTubia, is occasionally finding islands of sanity, patient explanations, which visiting said islands makes you smarter and better informed for having done so.
In fact, Professor Fiamengo appears to be an actual professing old-style liberal. Old School Liberal– Believes 1st year kids have skulls full of mush, which must be shaped and formed. Believes in facts, truth, hard work, and the free exercise of the mind and will on learning & mastering a topic. Education, knowledge, wisdom, and degrees are hard-won over years, not handed out like prizes for everyone– and only in real areas of knowledge.
Worthwhile Professing Persons
Someone like Professor Fiamengo represents (like other kick-butt Canucki profs such as Doug Farrow & Dr. Margo Somerville, amongst others) some of the best kind of Canadian scholarship: detailed, insightful, impartial, quietly passionate, and worth hearing and pondering. They are– to the best of my knowledge– unbought, unradical, uncorrected, and serve as educated minds and consciences speaking back from our Western Tradition to the various concerns and controversies of the day.
You know, out loud. In public and stuff. Common sense, even.
Unlike radicalized profs, or the ‘false consensus’ global weather academics, with the best professors & teachers, you don’t feel like you’re listening to the same old script, or hearing only one side of an issue (usually Leftwards), or that a whole dimensions of learning are being deliberately silenced or misrepresented for political or ideological excuses. You know, college as usual: Brainwashing, only $20K+ a year, thank-you Cha-Chinnng!
Go And Do.. Braining Are Good!
Watch her on YouTube, read her via Google, and her excellent series via. Studio Brulé. Because Binky said so.
If it should happen that Binks kicks the bucket in the next 60 years or so, please….
— Mourn my death, all death, and do not have a forced-smiley “Celebration Of Life”, or, I swear, my corpse will zombiefy briefly, rip off its own arm, and club the preacher senseless with it.
— Don’t preach me into heaven.. or hell. You don’t know that: death is not an automatic graduation. That’s God’s business. Preach about God’s judgment and mercy in Jesus.
— Don’t tell my loved ones “he’s in a better place”, as a form of comfort. You won’t know that. “So sorry” is fine.
— Don’t tell my family “Everything happens for a reason”, either. “So sorry”, or “Good riddance” is just fine.
— Pray for my soul. Not so that it gets into heaven, but that the purgation is as quick and perfect as can be. If I’m in hell, I won’t care.
— My body will not be rubbish, leftovers, ‘or not really me’. It’ll be an integral part of who I was, and– in the resurrection– who I will be again, in Jesus. It will be resting and sleeping in hope, in the grave.
— Don’t plague my loved ones with your clever atheism, or on the other hand with very special theories about God and the afterlife and reincarnation and your pets going to heaven and suchlike.
— No, I will not ‘become an angel’ when I die. Nor shall I become a spotless Saint™. Eulogies are for pagans, trying to impress the gods or the public about the amazingness of the dead person. Have a wake, if you want to blab about my life, failings, and hilarities.
MY NAME IS Binks Webelf, and I’m a fairly big guy (for my generation, at least). Actual big bones (the above is me at 2 1/2), 6′ in socks, shoulders as wide as a doorway– if I were anorexic weight, I’d still be about 175 pounds. Plus, I’ve battled weight (poor/ stress/ sugar eating) much of my adult life.
Behind the current fat-‘shaming’ and lunatic ‘body acceptance’ controversy, there is an actual health crisis afoot, which social media could cover, Mr. Crowder, and save a lot of lives: the sugar-powered metabolism, leading to metabolic syndrome. It’s the hidden plague ensickening and killing millions.
Stupid Science Men
Remember low-fat ‘The Balanced Diet’ idea? Much smart, so science, very brain! Wow!!
Idiot food-scientists in the past century thought people were like machines– what you put in, you get out. Thus, dietary fat became evil: less is good. Eating fatty food makes you a blob, they believed. Bad consequences ensue.
Their new rules (which I grew up with)? Fewer eggs, less butter, diet everything, artificial sweetners, only occasional bacon, no cheese or anything like it– and lots of that that horrible inedible skim milk blue water of starvation & death. Bleagh.
Reality check versus Science Men– that’s not how humans actually work: your body & cells burn fat, and parts of your body (brain, nerve-sheaths, cell-structures) are literally composed of certain kinds of fats. Ooops. Reality 1, Stupid Science Man 0.
What actually happens if you severely restrict fats, or else eat a junk-fat carb-sugar-soft-drink loaded diet? Disaster is what.
ALERT! Body Red Alert!
The body will consume whatever fuel it gets. It needs a mix of fats, veg, fruits, some carbs and the like, but can run (badly) on carbs (bread, carbs, SUGAR). In this case, the body literally starves for fat, since it’s running mostly on sugar. Fat? What fat? I got none, says the metabolism,– so the fat goes into emergency storage. Really.
Mostly running on sugar? You must be starving to have so little fat in your furnace! Then your system hits the “Store ALL The Fats!” alarm, and so you find a carb+sugar fueled person sometimes not necessarily eating very much, but their body is on red alert, and storing fats like mad. Fatter, and fatter, and fatter. Horribly ironic, no?
Lotsa False Cures
Mocking the fat is the one still-permissible cruelty in 2016. You can see in the flesh what you rightly or wrongly imagine to be that person’s sins: gluttony, greed, sloth. Bad fatty!
The usual slings & arrows? EAT LESS, YOU PIG! Or, TAKE A WALK, LARD BUTT! Eat less! Exercise more! Diet, you slob! Feel better?
Except, even when sugar-fueled people do this, they lose weight super-slowly, and what little dietary fat they have gets burnt up, leading to.. you guessed it.. another “Store ALL The Fats!” alarm. Metabolism slows even more; the body even starts to burn its own muscle., since it is starving of fat. Vicious “Store ALL The Fats!” circle speeds up.
That’s when the fats turn into super-fats (triglycerides) and start getting glued into the liver (a form of inflammatory hepatitis), into arteries and, around the organs, and serious health problems & metabolic syndrome kicks in. The body can become almost resistant to insulin, because there’s so much sugar– and insulin around trying to control it– the cycle is out of control– type 2 diabetes ensues.
The Actual Cure
Cure? NOT to eat less, starvation diet, or all the usual very profitable DietInc. nonsense. The diet industry only wants you fat, and eternally trying to lose wight (and, ironically, starvation/ see-saw dieting can also ruin your health).
Read this book (and here’s the website)*, but moderate the suggested diet a little, because even cavepersons ate some carbs–roots, nuts, and the like– just as current stone-age people still do in 2016.
Do a low(er) carb/ higher fat/ veg semi paleo-style diet. After the fat alarms switch off, the body re-adjusts to burning fat instead of sugar-fuels, and consuming food– instead of hoarding fat and burning sugar– in real-time. Eat as much as your body needs– snack often, gorge less. Ditch all soda-pop, diet or super-saturated sugar. Both are toxic, in different ways.
You’ll feel hungry a lot more, and you’ll need to snack. You’ll start gradually losing weight, as the body no longer thinks it is starving to death from lack of life-giving fats. Combined with moderate exercise and enough food to fuel your activity, all of a sudden your body is operating as it should. Suddenly, EVERYTHING changes. Brain, energy, weight, eyesight, taste buds, recovery for exercise or injury.
Craving sugars? We’re all sugar addicts these days– have some fresh fruit instead. Mind you, this will also require some will-power, resolve, and self-discipline. Simply having the answer to a problem doesn’t solve the problem itself.
Learn up, and pass that on, and much of the politics of fat vs. thin will simply vanish. Yer welcome. ~

His commentary make me brain more good. Yay!
As I said, aside from his religious views, he has a fine B.S. Meter, a decent historical sense, and a real courage in speaking his views firmly but fairly.

THE POINT OF TERRORISM is.. terror: submission, paralysis, fear, to control & change you inside. Politics, warfare, & conquest by other means.
You acquiesce to increasing levels of “peace and security” fascism at home, to supposedly prevent internet & mosque made Islamofascists from home and abroad. And you’re never allowed to forget or think otherwise than: You. Are. Helpless.
So, welcome to the new normal, and the atypical and strange form of war, where you are on the front line of the Jihad. Your ordinary life– but suddenly with added machine guns, bombs, soldiers & police, and ever more safety-rape at security checkpoints. This is, of course, daily life in much of the world, now coming home to roost.
These terror attacks are not going to stop, although thankfully some are prevented by the authorities, despite themselves— though one does wonder if such terrorism isn’t found useful by advocates of a disarmed populace in a prison-state. You know, “useful crises” for the dark powers within the West, and the Jihadi threat-makers, too.
You can be safe, but not free. Or, you can be free, but not safe.
This truism is our life in 2016, and we made it. It’s founded on the fact that Baby Boomers and later could not did not or would not have replacement levels of children; that we imported people to replace our own missing kids; BUT (and thus the Canadian & more general problem) after Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau removed the educated-immigrant requirement, we increasingly allowed in welfare-ready, criminal, and under-educated people, including non-Westernized Muslims (and others) who brought their radical problems and ideas from home to here.
Canada In The Bullseye?
So far, useful-idiot Canada has been part safe-house, and part money-bags for radical terror groups. Our naive and well-intentioned “Multiculturalism” was supposed to mean cool new restaurant menus, and neighbours with exotic outfits and recipes at FolkFest. That’s because to us, faith and politics and Big Ideas and even our entire society are no longer to die for.. that’s the government’s job, now. Yet we import (or create) serious radicals who can operate well below our mental and political radar, people who are gladly misusing Canada’s nice reputation and passports and smug cluelessness.
Moreover, the informal hawalabanking system which allows money to be brokered all over the world from Canada? It means that some families are getting extra money from their Canadian relatives.. and so are some groups who like killing, bombing, raping, and decapitation. Terror gets saddle-bags of cash sent to them from Western supporters and mosques, and there’s no easy way to track it. It might– just might– mean that Canada will only be targeted by homegrown solo or small-group Jihadis, and not ISIS bombing a major airport, big city, or some mass gathering of people.
Who To The Rescue?
Since we’re all unofficially evil & dangerous, even law-abiding peaceful citizens in Canada can go to jail if they shoot or stab a home invader, or, one presumes, a bomb-strapped terrorist. Don’t worry! we’re told, polices will protect you!
This is a fraudulent promise, in the case of Jihadi-suicide terrorism, since the moment the scumtards start shooting or/ and then explode is the moment you’d like really some protection. When seconds count.. the police are only minutes away! I’m not saying that a gun-toting citizenry can solve everything, but nobody really can– even a total police state, overflowing with “Pe-E-e-eace & Se-E-e-ecurity“, and where everybody gets lightly raped at the airport.
Never forgets (until next time)! Roll out the fraidy-cat hashtags, avatars and animated GIFs! Signal that virtue! Lower the flags and light the monuments! Much sads! So feels! Tweet your defiances! SHHHTerror-nausea risingSHHHH….
What’s to be done, Binks? Be proactive, prepared, and not a victim. Because I said so, dammit! You. Are. NOT. Helpless.
In Canada, and gun-lite Europe, everybody CAN and SHOULD have (1) An Every Day Carry (EDC) kit, (2) An Emergency Plan, (3) A Way To Help, and (4) Some Self-Defence Skills. Even if our modern airport faux-security theatre undercuts some weapon-options, you don’t have to be totally helpless if dangerous, terrorist, weather crisis, or other emergency situations arise.
1. Your Very Own EDC
(1) Google or YouTube search for ‘Every Day Carry’ (EDC)– and most items are detailed on Amazon.com, so you can buy them more affordably on eBay. Every responsible, mature, and thus safety/ self-defence minded person from 8-year old on up should have some basic daily carry items.
Your EDC, for example? A rescue knife, keychain, good flashlight, a paracord bracelet, a mini-BIC lighter, a tiny Swiss Army knife (with tweezers & a pen), emergency whistle, small multitool, a smartphone, a watch or other time-piece, pen and paper (you can even get self-defence pens), some water, an LED micro-light, a firesteel. In the U.S., you should also have a punchy small gun (.40 or 45ACP), and your concealed-carry license, where possible.
Then.. there’s yer plastic raincoats, emergency mylar blankets, a compass, power-bars, a small backpack, tissues, some Ibuprofen, a bandana (for slings, wounds, and many other uses)….
There’s an EDC out there for every budget, level of readiness and complexity, and you can even colour-coordinate if you wish, ladies and gentlemen. Make an EDC keychain for each person in your family, and one for the car. Start small, build up, and switch items depending on your daily needs and travel.
Ask yourself: if you were ditched in a snowstorm, on a sinking ship, or caught by a hurricane, or some other emergency, how happy would you be to have these items? How much would you be willing to pay to have them on your belt, in your coat, or stocked in your purse?
2. Get Me Outta Here!
(2) Fun With Escapism. Play this video game in your head, wherever you are. If a bad guy or group of them were to come from this or that direction around me, where could I and my loved ones escape/ run to/ hide from bullets or other violence? Practice this mentally at home, the mall, supermarket, parking lot, airport, tourist location, nightclub, school or university, wherever.
Always try to have a plan A, B, and C– such options keep you from just panicking, and freezing in place. Think: I must be where the danger ISN’T.. and move away if it’s coming close. Don’t be conspicuous, or needlessly heroic– be bland and grey and unremarkable.
Americans: if you have your conceal carry license, use it and carry your sidearm, at very least to create a safe-zone or an escape route for yourself and others. Usually, the police will not be rushing in to save you any time soon. That’s not their job.
3 & 4. Help Out, Self Defence
(3) Do you have a basic First Aid/ CPR course? Could you operate one of those emergency Defibrillator machines you’ll sometimes see around? Could you stanch a wound, secure a broken neck, or use a tourniquet? Get those skills, now, when it’s not urgent. Sign up the office, or the whole family, or the whole school.
Re: helping– Beware that rushing right in after a bombing may be super-dangerous, because some bombers will plant delayed secondary explosives, for when they think the ambulance, police, and firemen have arrived– for even more horrible and costly collateral damage. Do what you can, be cautious, but a dead or wounded you is no use to anybody in need of help.
(4) Basic men or women’s self defence courses are available almost anywhere. MMA/ Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Tae-Kwon-Do, Krav Maga clubs are all over the place, and give you health, confidence, and some self-defence skills at the same time. A little weapon-training will help you fight with various weapons, or improvise, or know how to defend yourself (and others) against different attacks.
Almost Done, Ye Windbag Elf?
The middle class and upwards in Western Europe and much of North America have been generally safe, soft, and peaceful for almost three generations. We’ve enjoyed an extended local vacation from readiness, preparedness, living on the edge, thinking in an emergency.. because we’ve been mistakenly taught in the nanny state mental universe we live in that The World Is Safe, and if not, that Somebody Else Will Always Come Along To Save And Help Us.
A helpless, needy, compliant, disarmed & sheepish populace is ideal for those in power– but not the people themselves. Especially in emergencies.
This is naive at best, and grossly negligent and irresponsible at worst. The world isn’t really like that, so thank emergencies and bad people in this at least: we must be prepared as a minimum level of responsible adulthood. Sure it will cost some time and money and learning– but how much is your life or my life worth? That of our kids, grandkids, or neighbours?
Please keep learning up on those four starter-topics, via Google, YouTube, even Pinterest (and more here)– and pass the word on to others. We don’t have to either live in fear and terror, or in a prison-state.
Be free, and brave, and responsible with that freedom.
You see, the cry-bullies just haven’t been heard, and you’ve mean-spiritedly misunderstood them, and, like, also, and they have totally important stuff to say. Aside from slogans, face-paint, public disturbances, and a very watered down 175 year old Marxism and the 227+ year old Revolutionism.
The neo-Jacobinettes now have a YouTube Channel, so feel free to ‘enjoy’ their offerings. Oh, and plus? Because Milo’s an “assh*le”, one says no doubt in a spirit of diversity, inclusion, tolerance, and safe spaces, you #%@! bigot. Right then.
Living In The Ruins
The Promised SJW Utopia.. So Very Very Close!
There are not a few lost, sad, broken & odd people clustered under the SJW-pity party umbrella. I feel sad for them, for they have lost they know not what, in exchange for easy propaganda and screaming. Still, these are alleged adult alleged university kids.
That old academic idea that you study & ponder and listen first, second, and third, and only then (and very humbly) come up with some thoughts or words or ideas? Lost on them. Modern undiversity rewards insta-blab, BrainingLite, endless outrage and offendedness, and “Talk First (and loudly), Brain Later (if ever), cuz actual thought is a tool of the oppressors! This often devolves into #@%!$&*! and schoolyard-style name-calling, now with added threats and shoving, before you know it.
See, if I thought Milo was evil incarnate, I’d read up & learn up on his arguments and articles, write down some questions, criticism, and serious problems I saw, and go at it during the question & answer, on a blog, in e-mails, or in discussion. Not as fun, but much more effective, IF your goal is to actually learn, practice critical thinking, and (just imagine) actually convince Milo on a point or two to change his mind, or elaborate and correct his ideas.
On The Other Hand
A wise old prof of mine used to talk about his youthful university days, when he came to one of his profs, enthusiastically proclaiming that he had a new and exciting theory on the subject of the class. The professor thought a moment, then said (not cruelly) “..But why on earth would anybody be interested in that?”
That student later went on to be one of Canada’s wisest and mostly unsung Anglican professors and leading theologians, an adviser to bishops, archbishops, international scholars, and even a few popes. He was even described as “the conscience of the Canadian Church”. All because, first of all, he learned that true learning is mostly about listening first.
La La La, I Can’t Hear You!
It’s worse, now– more and more surrender to the quick-setting brain cement of Social Justice Marxism, slogans, propaganda, hate-speech, sexism-racism-fascism, and dehumanizing people on the basis of appearance, sex, skin colour, and ideas. The students are revolting.
The prizes? Instant moral high-ground, instant conflict, instant significance! Regurgitating something you heard someone else said that someone else said somewhere is not learning; it’s not reasoning, intelligence or wisdom; it’s not even a second-hand education. It’s programming. Instant stupid.
FREE EDUCATIONAL RULES 101
Free advice is worth every penny, so here you go.
The only question, whether you’re considering Milo, or bell hooks, or your prof or textbook or favourite speaker is:
Is This True (or False)? (this takes reason, and patience)
Then, another big question: How Do I Know This Is True (or False)? (This takes research)
And if you’ve gotten that far, then:
What is Right And Wrong (Or Uncertain) About This idea/ argument/ position? (This takes the ability to objectively think outside a position– or on both sides– so you can coolly figure the good & bad of a particular argument, claim, or asserted truth).
The good news here?– if you can properly do this last step, you’re 5 times further ahead than someone who only understands (or misunderstand) one side of the argument.
Truth.. Just Is, Man
It’s a sad mess: and Rutgers is only one of many such semi-insane schools throughout North America, which have forbidden the search for truth.
Truth does not depend on a majority or minority vote; it has no colour, race, political stance, or creed; it does not have a best-before-date; professors or teachers or writers may or may not be actually interested in it; radical mass movements tend to discourage thought, introspection, seeking truth, or being fair to the opposition.
A few warnings on truthing gooder:
Repeating something often enough does not automatically make it true, or untrue.
Because a book or prof or politician said something does not magically make it true, or untrue.
Truth is true, whether you like it or not.
The popularity of an idea does not somehow make it true, or untrue.
Real learning is very hard work.
Your grasp of the truth is necessarily imperfect. Be humble, but defend what truth you know & have, until you learn otherwise.
The pooling of ignorance in search of truth does not guarantee you or your committee will ever find any.
Ignorance– especially deliberate bad learning, or dumbing yourself because ideology– can lead to mindless and unpleasant behaviour.
The truth is often risky, unpopular with the cool kids, hard to live with, and you bear responsibility for what you know, and for passing it on.
To know that you know nothing, or very little, is the beginning of learning, as Socrates taught.
I hope these collij kids– like the one in the vid above– one day wake up and realize who they are, what they’ve become, and how very very little they really know or understand. I hope.
~ THE BINKS RECENTLY had a much-loved online friend who has known some illness, but not my heap of things, try to warn me that my soul was rotting away because I wasn’t trying to work for money while on disability. It was a unintended– and well-meant– kick in the throat.
I’ve been sharing a little more about ‘How I Am Doing’ now and again on The FB over the past few months, and this was (I was told) whinging and pity-seeking. Well, I’m alone at home most of the time, and sad as it is to say, you all are my friends, and extended fambly (even you, horrid Steve Skojec). Friends don’t go on and on 24-7, but a little info now and again (especially in the context of asking for prayers) is surely not verboten.
I worked sick & faked ‘being well’ throughout the 90s and 00s, until the body & mind quit, pretty much simultaneously. Crash landing: nearly deaded.
Never assume of your friends, family, and those you know to be ill or chronically ill with various things that (a) they just need to buck up, and (b) that you know what they are battling, and how bad can it really be anyway? I had a headache once, and that turned out fine….
Redeem The Time
And if you are yourself sick, or sorrowing, or chronically ill, or looking after someone who is unwell, or otherwise suffering, offer it up to God on behalf of others; ask for friends to pray for you and to help you where possible (our self-sufficient pride often keeps things bottled up), and so the blessings which God will give you, you can in turn share with others. Yes, that’s Bible. It’s a little version of what Jesus did on the cross.
“BLESSED be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ.”
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”
Pass it on. Be the Christ-like Good Samaritan. Redeem the time.
