~ FUN WITH Political Assassination.. not just for tinpot dictatorships, and Renaissance Italy & the Medici family anymore.

Someone brave (and who doesn’t mind dying suddenly in a tragic & bizarre accident tomorrow) needs to write a history of modern murder & assassination by the rich, political, globalist, pervert, and other elite classes throughout the 20th century. Name names, cite cases, spill details.

I think it would be a best-seller, and the sheer numbers and examples of names and ways to erase the bothersome, the whistle-blowers, the know-too-muches, the inconvenient, the trouble-makers– it would shock and astonish us. Popes, Cardinals, presidents, CEOs, rich drug-lords, celebrities, wealthy families, the CIA & FBI, secret cabals, conspiracies, big corporations– everybody does it from time to time, for any number of nefarious reasons.

Oops! An Accidental

Keep an eye on the whistleblowers, the uppity, the awkwardly uncooperative, those who think they are safe because they know where the skeletons are buried, or who know too much, the crusaders, the exposers and dogged journalists & reporters.. and note how they are either professionally disassembled via the politics of personal destruction.. or else how they suddenly and mysteriously die in any number of creative ways. Bullets, poisons, cancers & sudden diseases, car or airplane crashes, gym “accidents”, robberies-gone-wrong, “random” violence.. you name it. Money and a little creativity = plausible deniability.

The police or investigating authorities– if they are not already in on it– can be threatened, bought off, see careers ruined and promotions shelved.. or be offed as well. The establishment has many secrets to hide, and will close ranks. The news-monkey media is mostly bought off. The family of the offed and the public will often keep silent with what they know or suspect, for pure fear of the deadly consequences, and being “found dead” next. Silence is safest.

The churches– all of them– shield & protect criminals, and the guilty protect and cover for each other. Pedophilia, pederasty and many other crimes shame the name of Christ and shred the authority of such churches… yet the guilty are not often caught, or punished, or defrocked. Everybody has something bad on somebody.

Just Make Them Go Away

earthinhand

Jill Dando? Liz MacKean? Veronica Guerin? Vince Foster? The Kennedy brothers, and JFK Jr.?, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, critics and opponents of the Clinton Presidency, and the Obama administrations? Seth Rich, Ron Brown…. it’s a long list of possibles and likelys and almost-certains.

Many of the great and powerful are horrid, dirty, depraved and evil people. The European and North American elites are all implicit in this quiet murder spree, and have been since the middle of the 19th century, at least… and particularly since the Second World War.

It’s an ancient human way of operation. Still useful today in Church & state, business and politics– and the Soviet Union was expert at such things. Dirty deeds done cheap, no questions, no loose ends… and under Putin, reporters and political trouble-makers just keep suddenly and unexpectedly dying.

We Have No King But Caesar

Of course, this is the same idea found in the New Testament, with the plots against the life of Jesus. Even mutual enemies come together in the scheme– ‘Silence his disruptive words and deeds, before our whole rotten human world of lies and excuses and hypocrisy and sin and cover-ups comes crashing down.. muzzle the God-Man and make him go away.’ “Crucify him!”

Get a few false witnesses, a secret trial-by-night. bully the politically vulnerable Pontius Pilate, and the walking trouble from Nazareth is dead and silenced and sealed in a tomb guarded by soldiers… who can always be threatened, bribed, or silenced if anything awkward happens.

Such is the way of the world, of our human hearts avoiding the light & truth.. from the little kid covered in cookie crumbs and chocolate who denies he ate the cookies, up to the billionaire CEO or prince of the Church or political family mafia who seek safety in darkness and silencing and a little murder now and again. The body count is always there.

And yet– God is truth; from him no secrets are hid; the clevers and those with blood on their hands may escape prosecution, imprisonment or execution in this life, but God is not mocked. Jesus– our saviour & judge– warned [St. Luke 12:3]

“For everything that you will say in darkness shall be heard in the light and whatever you whispered in an ear in an inner chamber will be preached on the rooftops.”

Justice shall be done; the innocent and the murdered and the victims shall receive their due; the schemers and assassins and those who use them will receive perfect and inescapable divine judgment and eternal consequences; such worldly “power” and destructiveness in the service of evil, lies, sins, power, and cruelty will be revealed as the bestial and demonic work of Satan himself, the murderer and father of lies.

My hope is in Christ.. the worldling or Jihadist or power-monger may try to silence me, but they cannot not silence my Jesus, and it’s Risen His life in me which is my joy and peace, my redemption and forgiveness. Period.*

* P.S. Just in case I turn up suddenly and inexplicably deceased, having first handcuffed and tied my self up, shot myself in the back 10 times with a bolt action rifle before running myself over in a steamroller– and then being involved in a “fatal” airplane crash, and subsequently crushed by a falling safe.. please feel free to ask many many questions. ~

~ SO THERE WAS your humble WebElf, reading (online) the Pusey translation of The Confessions of St. Augustine (Book VIII), and I came across pre-saint Augustine’s comments about how deeply moved he was by the (then) book, The Life Of Anthony (of Egypt) Quotation below.

My brain is.. well.. not unlike a hamster on caffeine, so away I went to find a copy of the said other book, and started reading that.. before having finished Confessions... which I promptly forgot to finish. Welcome to my world.

St-Anthony-of-Egypt

What’s not to like? A book written by a saint.. about a saint, which inspired another man to eventually became a saint. Doesn’t that insta-rate five stars.. or, perhaps, haloes?

Written by St. Athanasius of Alexandria, The Life Of St. Anthony of Egypt, primary founder of Christian monasticism, is a readable, gripping, and inspiring Christian classic. St. Augustine, in his confessions, describes reading it along with his friends, and being deeply moved by it.

augustinemonica
A youngish St. Augustine and his mother, St. Monica, she of the very very patient and constant prayers for her wayward son.

None of us knows the effect of our lives, actions, words– or failures in the same– on our neighbours and times, or those to come. St. Anthony and St. Augustine both knew that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is faithful, and sowed their seed in their times. Lo and behold, those earlier heroes of the faith inspired one of the great Church Fathers in his day and age to fight the battles and fight the good fight in his day and age.

A reminder to abide faithful, however hard the slog or dark the times.

Cheers,

14. Upon a certain day, then, Nebridius being away (why, I do not remember), lo, there came to the house to see Alypius and me, Pontitianus, a countryman of ours, in so far as he was an African, who held high office in the emperor’s court. What he wanted with us I know not, but we sat down to talk together, and it fell out that upon a table before us, used for games, he noticed a book; he took it up, opened it, and, contrary to his expectation, found it to be the Apostle Paul—for he imagined it to be one of those books which I was wearing myself out in teaching. At this he looked up at me smilingly, and expressed his delight and wonder that he had so unexpectedly found this book, and this only, before my eyes. For he was both a Christian and baptized, and often prostrated himself before You our God in the church, in constant and daily prayers. When, then, I had told him that I bestowed much pains upon these writings, a conversation ensued on his speaking of Antony, the Egyptian monk, whose name was in high repute among Your servants, though up to that time not familiar to us. When he came to know this, he lingered on that topic, imparting to us a knowledge of this man so eminent, and marvelling at our ignorance. But we were amazed, hearing Your wonderful works most fully manifested in times so recent, and almost in our own, wrought in the true faith and the Catholic Church. We all wondered— we, that they were so great, and he, that we had never heard of them.

15. From this his conversation turned to the companies in the monasteries, and their manners so fragrant unto You, and of the fruitful deserts of the wilderness, of which we knew nothing. And there was a monastery at Milan full of good brethren, without the walls of the city, under the fostering care of Ambrose, and we were ignorant of it. He went on with his relation, and we listened intently and in silence. He then related to us how on a certain afternoon, at Triers, when the emperor was taken up with seeing the Circensian games, he and three others, his comrades, went out for a walk in the gardens close to the city walls, and there, as they chanced to walk two and two, one strolled away with him, while the other two went by themselves; and these, in their rambling, came upon a certain cottage inhabited by some of Your servants, poor in spirit, of whom is the kingdom of heaven, where they found a book in which was written the life of Antony. This one of them began to read, marvel at, and be inflamed by it; and in the reading, to meditate on embracing such a life, and giving up his worldly employments to serve You….
