~ WHEN THE HISTORY of this century is written, the media-gasm over Obama– and their compliant coverup of his lies and flaws– will stand in the annals of propaganda. Reports of legal and media ‘Truth Squads’ from the Obama side, jumping on and threatening those who criticize Obama, are beyond all belief. Name an American election in which Truth Squads were out and in the open like this. These are not democratic behaviours; this is a classic fascist tactic, to threaten and shut down legitimate– or even illegitimate– public criticism and opposition. That the media is cooperating with those who would silence and control it– as long as it’s their glorious leader who’s being protected– is a sad obituary for the idea of a free press, for political and intellectual freedom.

Our HRCites would have us believe it’s all a local problem..  just a few hate-y types who need some legal therapy, and it’s a Canadian thing, and just we never trouble our pretty heads about it all. We are living in dangerous fascistical times, and our elites are not always on our side. Sometimes they just don’t see the problem; sometimes, they really feel the world would be a better place if all the dissidents would just shut up– or were made to shut up.

Who won the U.S. Presidential Candidates Debate? Who cares?, sez this elf. “Who has the fascist Truth Squads?” is the real question. ~

~ THE CONSERVATIVE blogosphere is mostly a collection of info-nerds. Most of us like data-mining, coding & compiling, and chatting wit each other. It’s a pretty boring Vast Conservative Conspiracy Thingy. We’re seeing the curtain pulled back on Leftism in Canada; we’re seeing blogs influencing politics; and conservatives are being somewhat more effective than usual, if not getting credit from the dino-media. The Truther story, The Greens & Hizb’allah, the Free Speech debate, and on it goes.

Running the world, muwahaha? It is to laugh! Finally getting some kick? Yep. But Kathy Shaidle is partly right: bloggers can’t just be media-wannabes or party apparatchiks or party-line parrots. We ahve to love the truth, and Canada, and ourselves more than politics as usual, or money, or media-attention.

~ BITING THEIR OWN BUTTS: It is beyond sweetness that the HRC-supporting free-speech bashing CJC is now getting a taste of it’s own Buckley’s Mixture. It was all games when it was Zundel, or Brockie, or Boissoin, until Steyn and Ezra and the blogosphere spoilt the party. Truth is, the party was spoiled, green, and furry long since. Torturing the accused with punitive expenses; undue process; a utopian left-wing bias; a poisoning and chilling of speech, religion, and due debate. The Jewish community is part of Canada, not the whole; their concerns are valid, but not the be-all and end all; and insofar as they’ve shoved along an unfair process, the Jewish community itself needs to rise up, speak out, and spank this peculiar bureaucracy of self-appointed status quo speech-crushers and seat-fillers.

~ RESCUE HERO– This guy is a real man. This is his school. Not as in ‘homo sapiens’ or having the right anatomy, but as in doing the right thing for all of us perhaps at the cost of his own life. Such courage is not politically correct, nor represented in most of the media except by caricature. And in a culture of malleable character where backing off and covering your ass is king, manliness seems a bit.. risky. Such is gutless minionism. We have been in a cultural war against men and boys for some time– check your divorce courts, educational system, abortion practice, and pop culture.

Of course, that principal might have hoped for the police to save the day, we all know what could have awaited them– 45 minutes later when they actually got into the school. Sorry about the shooter’s no doubt unfortunate childhood, but [judgemental words ahead] evil cannot be allowed its will because of other past evils. The shooter had to be stopped, period. Killed, if necessary, to prevent greater evils. Freedom costs, and the lives and freedom of the kids in that High School were more precious than gold or gems.

Why not drop him a note, and thank him for what he did— not because he was a hero, but because he was a man, who knew and did his duty– and that should be a more common thing than it is.

I’ve been reading Scottish history & historical fiction recently– Nigel Tranter is an amazing novelist, and packs his books with details and history. While Robert The Bruce fought back against Edward I (Longshanks), the Scots nobility sent a powerful plea to the Pope on behalf of the nation, The Declaration of Arbroath (1320). It reads, in part:

“It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom — for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.”

Read that. Chew on it. Freedom is worth defending unto the death, if need be.

That should be the cry of every Canadian heart; of every person ‘standing on guard’ for our nation and our freedom; and though our nation is beset by different kinds of enemies and traitors without and within, the fight remains the same. Thank you, nobles of 14th century war-torn Scotland. Thank you, true men and women who take the bold stand and do the thankless work that holds and builds things up day by day, year by year, century by century.
