– ITEM: When Government Replaces God and Family.

~ THE VIRTUE OF distilled and eternal wisdom is that it can save us from endlessly repeating the same mistakes; from thinking we’re just the bestest thing ever; from that pride and limitation of vision which is a particular human failing.

So as we watch Count Iggy in Canada, or Emperor Obama in his USSR, it almost seems to strike some people as shocing that leaders are prone to teh stupid, teh arrogant, and general opportunism and badness. Watchers of Greek drama would know better; those who knew the history behind Roman law-codes would understand; and the Bible is quite plain:

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in any child of men.” [ Psalm 146:3 ]

All-powerful all-giving government is a 20th century innovation and hope. It was part of the whole utopia-thing, to remove people from poverty and sickness. Communism, Fascism, democratic Capitalism are all attempts to use government as a means to the greater end– and in many ways, it has succeeded. The sick and poor in any third-world country would willingly trade places with those of Toronto or New York: our poor are often pretty well off, materially speaking.

Sadly, that same nanny-state has enervated and infantilized much of the populace, and the new utopia-statism of the British labour party, Candian Liberals and NDp, or American Democrats would seek to entirely weaken and stupefy their citizens into sheeple: defenceless, bleating, clueless.

Whether it’s going off-grid, skilling up, getting weapons-training, or self-defence skills, or having resources for you and your family that make you less beholden to uber-gov, it is to be rather more like our ancestors– you know, the people that carved a new world from a stone-aged wilderness by their sweat and hope. When the government gives all, you are reduced to a baby– adults are our ruling Betters, doign things to us and (we hope) for us, but not interested in our opinion or assistance. Government above the people, not by the people.

Doo-goodery and good intentions are not enough: “Put not your trust in princes, nor in any child of men.” Stand up on your own two feet, make ready to help and protect your self and your neighbours as needed, build up local roots and connections, and teach your children the same. Trusting that ‘They’ will help or do it for you or make all the boo-boos and owwies go away is to contribute to nanny-gov, and weaken ordinary people and local readiness.

It doesn’t help when BigGov makes it harder: had a few well-trained students or teachers with sidearms been present at Montreal Polytechnique or Virginia Tech or Columbine, the body-count would have been much lower. Even if people had recognized that the Algerian immigrant boy in Montreal was only carrying a .22, and sought to take him down, it would have been better than what did take place. Or see foolish Engoland, having banned many guns, now in a wave of knife and stick and rock crimes, and with gun-toting criminals taking on the police themselves.

A well-prepared and armed populace is the first guarantee of a free and strong and safer society. 50 years of tweaking and tinkering with society in this regard has not made us safer, or freer, or stronger. ~

– ITEM: Obamagic-Federal Reserve Makes Cash Disappear- Cannot Account for $9 Trillion

~ CHUTZPAH.. COJONES.. AND BALD-FACED PILLAGE— Obama is in the midst of the greatest heist in history: stealing from everyeone everywhere, all over, from the future, and from the world. Letting the unions run wild; avoiding the accounting; making endless promises he can never pay for without that the ponzi-scheme continues, and the bill never ever comes due, and the wild ride somehow continues forever. It’s Saul Alinsky in a pantyhose mask.

Back in the gold-standard days, this would be like an old-fashioned Bond-007 villain making the big hit on Fort Knox, and pinching all the gold ingots… except this is in broad daylight, and it’s the President and his Dem sidekicks, and the big-picture creeps like Soros and others who bought themselves a country, and are now skimming off the cream for themselves. Obama will live in history as the greatest pirate, with the biggest plunder ever, umpty-gatrillions, worth several Roman Empires. It’s a hundred and a few days, and he has his place in history.

Can he just retire, already?

That’s why the stock-market ‘rally’ to 10k is not a sure sign of great things right ahead: the trains are still hauling less, the Government receipts are waaaay down, and the fundamentals of the economy (the people who actually make, invent, and do things) as opposed to money-pushers) are not sound. ~

When the alleged reality doesn’t match the all-important Marxist theory, fixate on some other enemy of the revolution, or fall-back rant. For the radicals, it’s just better to treat it all as imaginary: inconvenient truth; something just not to talk about for all you’re worth.. by the way, have you heard about that ‘orribly hateful wench Carrie Prejean? That bloviating blob Rush? The global warming? Nothing to see here: move along.

That’s why, calmly and humorously and with facts and persistence, conservatively-minded people simply must keep on fighting and stating the right. We may lose, but that’s not the same as being defeated, nor surrendering, nor not bothering. Remember: the Lord of The Rings is the story of a long defeat– the doom of the West– only turned around at the very last extremity, in a joyful last minute victory. ~

~ IN A MOMENT, in the twinkling of an eye, she went from polished pageant-chickie to hate-filled semi-human upon whom any cruelty or epithet might be levelled. Her crime was ideological: political. She spoke against the Left Coast and Elite consensus that considers radical sexual politics a settled matter, only to be spoken of in approving and enthusiastic tones. She went from butterfly to lowly caterpillar wit hjust those few innocuous words about man + woman = marriage.

So it is with the enemies list liberals of the 21st Century. Late in the last century, bellweather Anglican liberals were foreshadowing these days with their various neo-absolutisms: bishop as overlord; new liturgy or bust; women clergy. You had to do– or be thought ready to do– handstands at the mere mention of the new trinity. Otherwise, it was slights and backbiting and innuendo: you were holding unapproved views. They might be actual Anglican and Christian views, but the soft- Marxism abroad was more about ideological than theological or Biblical purity.

Carrie Prejean is meant as a warning and threat to would-be dissidents. I take it as an encouragement that there are people still willing to trade easy loot and fame for some principle, and that young people brought up int he avalanche of political correctness that is modern shcool-life can somehow stil lhave surviving brain-cells not marching in lock-step with the spirit of the age. ~
