Obama is a nitwit kid playing games in the schoolyard, and walking on thin ice at home and abroad. His limited skill-set and bullying/ pandering habits bring nothing to the international situations facing the West.

Three more years of this could mean World War III, in any number of ways. ~

~ I LOVE THE QUEEN. And the monarchy. Of course, people will say “That’s old-fashioned” or “Canada needs to grow up” or some other bit of rubbish.

The alternative, as I’ve said somewhere or other, is the rule of pseudo-kings like Jean Chretien or HRH Iggy or The Emperor Obama… or the little tinpot utopians of the Human Rights Utopian Cults, and all the dreadful moral busy-bodies, do-gooders and would-be witch-finders who want to tell everybody else their business.

Despite the ragbag of saints and sinners who actually wear crowns, monarchy represents a long-term investment in legitimate authority, responsible government, due process, and something more than the passing political madness of the moment.

Aside from that, I think the actual Queen of Canada is a jewel beyond price, a wonderful, smart, funny, wise lady who has devoted her life to England, Canada, and the world. Thusfar, she’s only seen my knees at high speed (driving by in her Limo through Louisbourg), but I stood a few rows behind her at a church service. A pleasure, in any case.

Despite her addled family and the madness of modernity roiling about, Elizabeth II has been a good queen. May God keep her and bless her. ~

~ TEH BINKS LOVES ARCHAEOLOGY— no, not just Indiana Jones movies, but the real thing. The coolest thing I’ve come across recently is finding ruins via Google Earth/ satellite, or airplanes. As it turns out, a lot of rural history (apart from cities, where the layers build up faster) is just below the surface. So you can see ancient walls, building, roads, fortifications just below the surface, because soil deepens slowly, and plants growing over ruins are different than those growing over soil only.

So in settling the mystery of just which city in France it was that Julius Caesar surrounded with two walls (one inwards, one outwards) to take on all the forces of the Gauls, one guy in a plane (Roger Agache) figured it out.
