~ THE KEY TO THE MATTER: When trying to understand a mafia, or organized crime, read & watch the GodFather saga– yes, even the unfavourite bits.

The ObaMafiosi are a Chicago Machine crime family. Extortion, threats, bribes, rigid loyalty, running cons, threats, daylight robbery, political and economic sub-bosses, consigliari, hitmen and thugs; and now they own the White House. Watching the GM/ Bank of America/ TARP/ election-stealing, money laundering… it’s all there in The GodFather. Watch how they do, and prove me wrong.

Gettin’ His Thug On

One key to any illegitimate regime is to get your thugs going: revolutionary guards, brownshirts, call them what you will. Outside the law, scaring off opposition with violence and threats and not law and reason or the usual channels. So now ACORN is getting their thug on: intimidating a NY State Senator, assaulting a top aide– and (of course) not a word from Obama, nor should we ever expect one. Just as in all the enemies-list stuff, the media abuse, messianic messages, and other “Shame if anybody were to get hurt” moments of the past 8 months and more.

It’s not a mistake. It’s how tyrants work– just as by having 25+ czars, he can duck the courts and legislative branches, so with his less official allies, he can send clear messages to those who would oppose him or his programs.

Of course, this all dovetails nicely with the speech & thought repression of many American media outlets, universities, and elites: not a conspiracy, exactly, but a common habit of mind and action tending in the same direction, and with similar results.

Remember– ‘progressivism’ is a pretty word for a slave/ master ideology, where there is no arena of life unregulated by bureaucrats and our masters.

Look for the new government vocabulary popping up all over– forced.. threatened.. demanded.. ultimatum.. insisted.. take-over.. control.. power.. it’s a new day out there.

~ WHOA. DID YOU SEE THAT? Can some one give us the slo-mo replay? Did the Americans and Euroids really just hand Hilter’s Mini-Me Ahminajihad the Iranian election, and crush a nascent moderate movement in Iran? I’m just surfing past this one, so correct me if I’m wrong.

I think Obama just failed another test, and this time, a huge one. Plus, as in Gulf War I, the “freedom loving good guys” keep handing back control of our erstwhile allies to the bad people who will kill, imprison, torture, and crush any and all opposition.

After all, even soft-tyrannies need external enemies to keep people distracted from the monumental suckitude of their own policies and leadership failures: better the 12-Imam nuke-threatening terror-supporting evil little bastard you know, than….? What’s a few thousand dead Iranians and the crushed hopes of millions or the nuking of Tel Aviv, versus not harshing our own mellow?

Sharks Smile, Too

~ CONSERVATIVES SMILE: Too many liberals bear their teeth. Humourless.. lame.. too often malicious. It wasn’t always so, but there is far less good will and good humour in the private and public spheres.

If we’re to measure by the ‘jokes’ of HuffPo or Letterman, or the laboured tonguebaths and smirks from Jon Stewart, it’s a point with a little– a very, very little– comedy. It’s ideologically approved laughter against the approved targets/ threats/ enemies list.

On the other hand, I just find a lot of conservatively-minded people to be inherently funny; they see the irony and comedy of the ridiculous human condition; they apply comedy to themselves as well as others, or people and ideas they oppose. They gather together and laugh and are generally happy. Life is funny.. not least when do-gooders and tinpot dictators stomp about trying to make it more miserable and grim.

Most often, as I slave over a hot keyboard, I’m not fuming, raging, swearing, or hating– nor flinging darts at an Obama/ Jennifer Lynch poster. I find my life– human life– political and cultural life to be a giant amazing tragicomedy. You might as well laugh as cry, right?

Jihadis and progressives are generally humourless ideologues, bent and seeking to bend everybody else and the world into acceptable shapes. They may smile, but it’s a mocking hateful spirit, not a joy which echoes the very heart of reality– the infinite and joy-filled heart of almighty God. ~

Sick Twisted Freakery

~ GLENN BECK: I’d rather listen to a slightly over-the-top commentator with a fairly decent track record of being right– than any politically correct talking head who keeps on-script with the usual talking points. When Beck is wrong, he cheerfully admits it; and otherwise, lets the evidence and the experts speak for him.

He thinks outside the box, and equally irritates Republicans and Democrats (but particularly liberals, who have supreme confidence in their ability to control things, outcomes, and people). Plus, he’s funny– more funny than Limbaugh, if less rollicking than Steyn. ~
